Thane waitress gang raped in car by four men; accused shoot video

In an appalling incident of crime brought to light from Maharashtra’s Thane district, a 26-year-old woman who is a waitress was allegedly gang-raped by four men. Kasarwadavli police have now taken the four accused into their custody in connection with the case.

The victim, a waitress at a ladies orchestra bar, came in touch with a man identified as Govind Rajbhar in 2019. Rajbhar, a native of Nallasopara, became friends with the woman on the pretext of marriage and often raped her between February 2019 and August 2021.

The victim in her police complaint alleged that the accused also took money and jewellery from her on the pretext of buying a room, as per a report by Times of India.

The complainant further alleged that the accused also made an obscene video clip of the victim. He then blackmailed the victim to make physical relations with him and raped her number of times during that stretch," a police officer said.

Furthermore, the cop stated that Rajbhar along with his three other friends molested and gang-raped the victim in a car near Chenna bridge.

As maintained by police, the victim and her abetter were taken into police custody for attacking the accused. She was charged under Section 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons) of the Indian Penal Code.

The accused also made an obscene video clip of the victim's sister while she was taking a bath and threatened her too. The police said they are investigating the matter from every aspect.

DCP Vinay Rathod stated that a manhunt is underway to trace and arrest the accused. A female cop is conducting an investigation into the case.
