Nursery student raped inside school bus, woman helper tried to conceal crime

In a horrific incident reported from Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal, a three and a half year old nursery student was allegedly raped by the school bus driver in the presence of a woman helper who tried to cover up the crime. Both the accused have been taken into police custody.

The shocking incident became known when the student’s mother saw marks on her body and asked her what happened. Once the minor victim told her mother about the horrifying crime, the family approached the school management, who apparently rebuffed every allegations.

Following this, the police were informed and the bus driver was taken into police custody under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act and a rape case was also registered. The helper was also held as she tried to cover up the crime.

Reacting to the horrifying crime, Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra said both the accused have been arrested and said the school authorities also tried to cover up the crime so they would also be interrogated and in case they are found culpable, action would be taken.

In another incident, a 48-year-old woman from Haryana's Panipat was allegedly raped by two men in Uttar Pradesh’s Shamli district on Monday. The accused have been identified as Mohan and Rahul.

On the basis of the complaint registered by the victim's family members, a case was lodged against the two accused, said Superintendent of Police (Shamli) Abhishek Kumar. While Mohan has been arrested, Rahul is still at large.

As maintained by the police, on Monday, Rahul called the woman, saying that her two sons, who are behind bars, would be released on bail. When she reached, the duo allegedly thrashed and raped her, later abandoned her in a jungle.

Later, locals in the area discovered the woman in an unconscious state, following which police were alerted.
