Father kills self after driving his truck over daughters; know shocking reason

In a shocking incident, a 40-year-old man allegedly killed his two daughters by running his truck over them on Sunday in Induri village in the Pune district of Maharashtra.

After murdering his daughters, the man also ended his life by jumping before the truck, the police said.

Know why he killed his two daughters:

According to news agency PTI, the man identified as Bharat Barate was a driver and owned a truck.

He was angry with his 18-year-old daughter Nandini after he caught her chatting with a boy on WhatsApp. While his younger daughter (14) Vaishnavi was supporting Nandini.

On Saturday, Barate caught his elder daughter chatting with some boy on her phone. Due to this, he lost his temper and started beating her, a senior police official said.

He got infuriated and took his two daughters at around 1 am on Sunday out of the house. On hearing the voice of the truck, his wife also woke up and came out. He made his daughters lie on the road and drove the truck towards them.

According to Barate’s wife, he also asked her to join them.

Before the woman could ask for help from relatives living nearby, Barate had already killed his daughters under the truck. Later, he also jumped before the moving vehicle and killed himself.

According to India Today reports, the accused man and his younger daughter died on the spot while the elder daughter succumbed to injuries at the hospital.

As per the deceased man’s wife, Barate wrote a suicide note before the incident and also took her signature on it. The woman signed the paper without reading it. Later, she found it to be a suicide pact note that said he along with his wife and daughters were ending their lives.

In the note, the man wrote that his daughter’s behavior was not good and also mentioned that no one should be held responsible for the deaths.

Meanwhile, police have registered a case under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code. Further investigation is underway. Police are trying to find out why the daughters didn’t try to run after seeing the truck approaching them.
