Tokyo Olympics: India men's hockey team beat Germany 5-4 to clinch bronze

India clinched a 5-4 victory against Germany in their men’s hockeybronze medal match at the ongoing Tokyo Olympics on Thursday.

Simranjeet scored two goals for the Indian side at the Oi Hockey Stadium. along with Hardik Singh, Harmanpreet Singh and Rupinder Pal Singh also adding their names on the scoresheet.

The victory also helped India men’s hockey team finish their 41-years medal wait at the Olympics. The grappler Anshu Malik lost her repechage round 2 at the women's freestyle 57kg category. She lost 1-5 to ROC's Valeria Koblova.

Also, Vinesh Phogat started her day with a victory against Sofia Mattsson in the wrestling freestyle 53kg 1/8 finals. Vinesh registered a 7-1 victory. In the meantime, Ravi Dahiya and Deepak Punia will also be seen in action and will put their challenge forward for their country.

Ravi Kumar Dahiya will take part in the final of men's freestyle 57kg category while Deepak will compete for the bronze medal in men's freestyle 86kg category.
