Weather report July 1: Heavy rainfall In Himachal, Kashmir; Delhi rains to continue

IMD has recently declared that Monsoon has covered the entire country and has reached Rajasthan state and this time it was way before the actual dates.

The IMD says it is likely to shift further in a north direction towards the foot of Himalayas and remain there between July 1 and July 6.

Consequently, rainfall activity is very likely at most places with isolated heavy to very heavy falls over Northern parts of UP, Bihar, Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh, Western Himalayan region and Northeastern states on July 1, 2 and 3.

Meanwhile, rain intensity is expected to reduce significantly over Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra increasing the temperatures.

Down South, the offshore trough extending from Maharashtra to Kerala has weakened. Therefore, rain activity will also reduce over North Konan region including Mumbai. Besides this, light to moderate rain will continue over South Konkan, Coastal Karnataka and Kerala.

Meanwhile, a trough is extending from North Bihar to Andhra Pradesh Coast. Thus, scattered light to moderate activity over North Andhra coast and adjoining Telangana cannot be ruled out. While South Tamil Nadu will be mainly dry.
