Nayanthara refused to work with Shah Rukh Khan in Rohit Shetty's Chennai Express

Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer Chennai Express were one of the blockbuster films in 2013. The film helmed by Rohit Shetty received immense love and applauds from the audience and the critics. Well, not just this the dialogues of the film were echoing on all social media platforms one of the most loved was "Kaha se kharidi aisi bakwas dictionary”.

Apart from SRK and DP the film also starred many actors from the south industry to give the authentic touch to the movie as it was set in the southern region. However, do you know that along with other actors, south industry beauty Nayanthara was also approached by the maker?

Yes, you read it right, however not for what you are thinking. Nayanthara was not approached for Deepika’s role rather for an item number “1 2 3 4 Get On The Dance Floor”. But the actress declined the offer for reasons best known to her and it was then Family Man actress Priyamani was brought on the board. As they say, rest is history, the song turned out to be the most popular in the film and even now we can hear it in parties.

Apart from SRK and Deepika the film also starred Nikitin Dheer, Sathyaraj among others in pivotal roles. Meanwhile, on the work front, Rohit Shetty is soon coming with his cop universe Sooryavanshi starring Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh, Jaaved Jaafry among others. The film is all set for a Diwali release this year.

Whereas, Deepika will next be seen in Kabir Khan sports drama ‘83’ co-starring Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev, among others. The film has been scheduled for a Christmas release this year.
