Shocking! Over 30,000 pirated NCERT books worth Rs 50 lakhs seized by Delhi Police

Convent school or CBSE affiliated schools education are incomplete without NCERT books and the demand of NCERT books are always high among students. A fraud racket has been busted by Delhi Police which was illegally running a printing press in east Delhi’s Gazipur village and used to sell the pirated NCERT books.

As per the reports, Delhi police officials said that over 30,000 pirated NCERT books worth 50 lakhs were recovered from the spot.

Police also claimed that the racket was not printing and circulating the books of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) across India.

Delhi Police have arrested the 28-year-old identified as Abhishek Chaudhary from his residence in Shakarpur for running an illegal printing press. He has been booked under the Copyright Act.

Earlier on 12th March, Delhi Police Crime Branch had contacted NCERT Director for his help to find out the racket and then, they raided the offset press in Gazipur, East Delhi along with the NCERT team, where they found over 30,000 pirated NCERT books which they seized now.
