NEET Examination Centre 2018: Delhi NEET authorities unable to anticipate the crisis; students will now be forced to travel to other states for exam

This year NEET examination centre has become the serious problem for some students as they have been allotted the centre in the other state. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) authorities were failed to provide the proper number of examination centres to the students, especially for Tamil Nadu students. Previously, the plea had been filed in Madras High Court that students won’t be able to travel to give the examination to another state.

Later, Madras HC also directed to the CBSE that the Board should re-allocate the centre to all 2,000 candidates from Tamil Nadu. On 4 May, Supreme Court has ordered that no centre re-allocation will be given to the students and every student have to travel to another state for their NEET exam. Therefore, TN students will forcefully to travel to other states to Kerala, Karnataka and some even to Rajasthan.

According to the CBSE official, the main problem will be for the rural students who may don’t have the means to travel or even unable to pay for the accommodation in another state. CBSE official further said that ‘Delhi (NEET authorities) did not anticipate this crisis.’

As per the officials, ‘They have no clue about rural students who cannot afford to travel so far to write a single exam.’

While Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan directed all the state’s SPs and collectors to open the helping desks at major bus stands and railway stations for those students who are travelling from far distances. He also announced on 4 May evening that all the officials should facilitate all the possible arrangements, including the accommodation.

However, the examination for NEET will be held on 6 May 2018, i.e. Sunday.
