Maharashtra Class 12 Paper Leak: Case registered against 4 including 3 students, 1 detained

The Mumbai Police Crime Branch detained one suspect on March 5 in connection with the Maharashtra Board Class 12 Mathematics question paper leak case. The police have registered a case against four people, including three students, and transferred it to the Crime Branch.

During the investigation, the police also recovered some parts of the Class 12 Mathematics question paper from a student’s mobile phone.  The student studies at Dr. Antonio D'Silva High School and Jr College in Dadar.

This comes days after Maharashtra Class 12 English paper leak, for which police filed a case and arrested as many as six teachers in Parbhani.

Earlier, during the Higher Secondary Certificate examination, a Class 12 student ran out of the exam hall with his answer sheet. The student was taking the maths examination at Nagsen Madhyamik Vidyalay in Aurangabad.

The student had asked for permission to go to the toilet just 10 minutes before the paper was scheduled to end. When the invigilator denied his request, he ran out of the exam hall.

As per the officials, they only found one page of the student’s answer sheet rest was missing.

Meanwhile, the opposition parties slammed the Maharashtra Government over the paper leak issue in the Assembly.

"Is this government sleeping? The question paper was leaked right before the examination. What about students who had studied for the paper?", Leader of the opposition, Ajit Pawar said.

Moreover, the Crime Branch is investigating the case and trying to nab people behind the Class 12 paper leak.
