Indian cricketer Sanju Samson who plays for Rajasthan Royals in Indian Premier League got married to longtime girlfriend Charulatha on Saturday, December 22. The two knew each other since their college times and got married in a simple ceremony at a resort in Kovalam, Kerela.

Samson was retained by Rajasthan Royals for 2019 edition of Indian Premier League. The wicket-keeper batsman made his T20 International debut for India against Zimbabwe on July 19, 2015 and as of April, 2017 he is the youngest batsman to score 1000 runs in the IPL.

 

In the auction there were many surprises after Brendon McCullum was unsold while uncapped Indian player Varun Chakravarthy from Tamil Nadu who played in Tamil Nadu Premier League for Madurai Panthers and was sold for 8.4 crores that 42 times higher than his base price. He was sold to Kings XI Punjab.
Another expensive buy was Jaydev Unadkat, who was also sold for 8.4 crores to Rajasthan Royals, while Mohammed Shami was sold for 4.8 crores to Kings XI Punjab.

Shimron Hetmyer and Carlos Braithwaite is the most expensive players sold till now in the 2019 IPL auction being held at Jaipur, Hetmyer was purchased by Royal challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders took Braithwaite in their team. Yuvraj Singh left unsold but was later bought by Mumbai Indians for 1 crore, while Hanuma Vihari was sold for 2 crores to Delhi Capitals. The shock has come for the cricket lovers in the country after no team opted for Yuvraj who had a bad season last year. Axar Patel who played for Kings XI Punjab last year was purchased by Delhi Capital for 5 crores this year.

IPL 2019 auction finished on December 18 in Jaipur with every team buying their players in a fixed amount they were allotted by the BCCI. Mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy and Jaydev Unadkat going for the highest bid in the auction with Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals buying the respective players for 8.4 crores each.
