Watch: New Zealand batsman Leo Carter emulates Yuvraj Singh, hits 6 sixes in an over

New Zealand cricketer Leo Carter on Sunday imitated the former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh during New Zealand’s Super Smash T20 league. In the 16th over of the game between Canterbury Kings and Northern Knights, the southpaw ripped into Anton Devcich, smashing every delivery of the over for a six.

The Northern Knights set a target of 220. They were reduced to 104 for 3 when Leo Carter walked in to bat in the 11th over. By the end of the 15th over, Carter had gotten off to a vigilant start, knocking 11 of 12 balls as he let his partner McConchie do most of the hitting.

McConchie smashed 43 off 19 balls, with the Canterbury Kings taking the score to 156 at the time.

From that moment on, it was all Carter. The first ball was bowled on the leg side and Carter spun around to smash it behind square leg to get the over going. The next ball, which was a full toss, was sent flying over mid wicket.

The spinner bowled the third delivery full on off stump but the outcome was exactly the same. Devcich changed sides for the next delivery, going over the wicket, but it made no difference as Carter this time smashed the ball towards square leg fence.

Going back to bowling around the wicket, Devcich lobbed up another full toss. This time, the left hander hit him more straight sending the ball flying over the fielder at long on.

Devcich bowled it on leg again for the last ball and this time Carter fabricated a brilliant flick over the square leg boundary to finish off a perfect over.

From needing 64 off 30, the Canterbury Kings then just had to score 28 off 24 deliveries.

Besides Carter and Yuvraj Singh, the only players to smash six sixes in T20s are Ross Whitely for Worcestershire in the Vitality Blast and Hazratullah Zazai in the Afghanistan Premier League.
