Ravichandran Ashwin trolls England pacer James Anderson after his request to ICC on Mankad rule

Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin on Saturday emerged with a savage reply on England pacer James Anderson’s recommendation on the Mankad rule in international cricket.

Earlier, Afghan cricketer Noor Ahmad mankaded Pakistan’s Mohammad Huraira during the Under-19 World Cup quarterfinal. The dismissal gave way to a debate on Twitter and member of the cricketing fraternity manifested their point of view on the controversial way of dismissal.

The England fast-bowler took to his official twitter handle and recommended the International Cricket Council (ICC) to remove the law but Ashwin then popped up with a savage response that left fans in splits.

"Law removal might need some deliberation!! A Shredder might do the trick for now," Ashwin tweeted along with many laughing emojis.

In a similar incident, Ravichandran Ashwin had ran out Jos Buttler through Mankad during an Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals in 2019.

After the episode, Anderson had put a picture of Ashwin through a shredder during a podcast back in April 2019.

A video clip of James Anderson putting a picture of Ashwin through a shredder went viral on the internet but the Indian spinner had said that he was not troubled.

"Today Jimmy Anderson might feel that whatever I did was wrong. Maybe, tomorrow he might end up doing (Mankading) it," he had said.

"Who knows, it is all a question of perception of right and wrong. I don't think in this case it is necessary because it is within the law."

Afghanistan suffered a 6 wicket loss against Pakistan, who will now face India in the semi-final on Tuesday.
