OMG! This family drove from Singapore to England to watch India play in World Cup

India is a cricket frenzy nation with almost 1.3 billion people rooting for their favourite team to win. The country has seen many crazy fans who would do anything to watch India play. Riding a cycle from one state to another to travelling by train without a ticket, fans in India would do anything possible for their team.

A piece of recent news is coming in from London where a family drove 14,000 miles to reach England and watch India play the semi-final. The Mathur family who travelled from Singapore to England in the car started their trip on May 20 and reached London on July 4, 48 days later.

The Mathur family travelled through 17 countries and 2 continents before reaching London. From grand-son to grand-father, three generations of the family travelled 22,000 km to watch India play in the World Cup.

The family started their trip from Singapore and travelled through Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France, England (with visits to Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland to come).

“Since childhood, my dream has been to drive and do long distance driving trips. I've been keeping track of all my road trips on a blue map of the world that doesn't show borders and painting a red line on each one. The ultimate goal is to paint the world red!” Anupam was quoted as saying by the BBC.

This is not the first time that Anupam and his family are travelling by road. According to his family’s blog, he had travelled 60,000 miles (96,000 km) before his latest trip.
