ICC World Cup 2019: Ian Chappell marks why Virat Kohli led team can win the trophy!

The former Australian captain and coach Ian Chappell feels that Virat Kohli led team India has a strong variety in their bowling department and it makes them a strong contender to win 2019 world cup. Let us tell you that ICCC World Cup 2019 is going to kick start from 30th May in England and Wales.

Chappell said that the team which has the ability to get wickets at regular times, particularly in the middle overs, is likely to lift the world cup trophy. "In an era where big bats and big scores, with occasional monumental battering, have proliferated ODIs, there are still some seriously good bowling attacks gearing up for 2019 World Cup," Chappell told Cricinfo.

"Wicket-taking is going to play a crucial role in deciding this World Cup. Despite the modern gung-ho batting style, this is not an easy contract to fulfil when the tournament reaches the knockout stage. The team that consistently takes wickets -- particularly through the middle overs -- is the one most likely to lift the trophy," he added in the interview.

Chappell told that despite that India doesn't have the right pace in their bowling attack like what England and Australia has, but their trio of fast bowlers can do exceptional in favourable conditions.

"If there's any moisture in the pitches then Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are skilled enough to take full advantage. If, however, the pitches start to wear and the conditions are dry, then Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal are a dangerous wicket-taking combination," said Ian Chappell.

Well, despite having so much variety, India lost their first warm match against New Zealand with a huge margin. Now the team will play their second warm-up match against Bangladesh on Tuesday just before their first match against South Africa on 5th June.
