ICC Women's Cricket World Cup: Waqar Younis clarifies his 'controversial' tweet

After getting slammed on Twitter for his suggestion about reducing the overs in Women’s Cricket World Cup, the former head coach and skipper of Pakistan cricket team, Waqar Younis have cleared up the smoke surrounding the controversy regarding his suggestions.

Earlier, the right arm fast bowler has given his opinion upon women's world cup that it should be reduced from 50 over to just 30 overs. “@ICC What abt having 30 overs Cricket World Cup 4 Women???Like Tennis 3 sets rather then 5 #Suggestion I feel 50 overs r few 2many #WWCUP17,” Younis had tweeted on 29 June.

Now, Waqar took it to Twitter again to clarify his stand about discrimination towards women players and tweeted “Lesser overs mean faster pace,, more audience,,competitive Cricket,,no discrimination or prejudice toward Women #AlwaysRespectWomen #WWCUP17”.

The ICC Women’s cricket World Cup is going on in England and the finale of the world cup is scheduled on 23 July.
