'Hitman' Rohit Sharma reveals why he couldn't play his natural game

Indian opening batsman Rohit Sharma has made a smile on around 1 billion people with the amazing knock of 122 runs. His amazing knock helped team India to register their first win in the World Cup tournament. Team India played their first match against South Africa in Southampton and the team won by 6 wickets.

Team India's bowlers did quite well and stopped South Africa on just 227 runs but India also had to face some tough bowling SA side. The target was easy but the way team India chased it that was a little slow. Now the fans and cricket experts are asking why team India played slowly to win the game. Even Rohit Sharma didn't play his natural game of hitting sixes and fours more. He had played around more 80 dot bowls. However, now he (Rohit Sharma) himself has revealed why he didn't play his natural game.

"Different experience from India. There was something in it for the bowlers through the game, so you had to play out the overs initially and see what the ball was doing. Couldn't play my natural game. You have to take your time. Certain shots that I like playing, I had to cut out and play close to the body, and follow the basics properly - try and leave as many balls as possible on a pitch that is doing a bit," Rohit Sharma said after the slow century at the match.

Besides Rohit Sharma, no one from team India did even touch half-century mark in the match. Rohit Sharma got partnerships with all the batsmen who played for India from first to the last Hardik Pandya. Virat Kohli (18), KL Rahul (26) and MS Dhoni (34) played supporting innings in the game to win the match. Now the team will play their next WC match against Australia on 9th June at The Oval.
