UN goodwill ambassador Dia Mirza doesn't use sanitary napkins during periods; here is why

Bollywood actress Dia Mirza has been appointed as the UN environment goodwill ambassador from India and after this appointment, Dia Mirza has made some revelations. Dia Mirza said that she doesn't use sanitary napkins during periods and this Dia Mirza said in an interview after becoming a goodwill ambassador.

In this interview, Dia Mirza also said that she has stopped using those things that are affecting the environment. Dia said although sanitary napkins are the necessary thing but, it is polluting the environment badly. After seeing the pollution in environment Dia Mirza has stopped using the sanitary napkins.

In an interview to NBT, Dia Mirza told, "The Sanitary napkins and diapers in our country are polluting the environment on a larger scale and that' why in the periods I have stopped using the sanitary napkins. As an actor, if I am saying this and then it is a big thing because we also promote sanitary napkins. Whenever I got offers of sanitary napkins promotions, I clearly deny them."

Dia further added, “Now I use biodegradable napkins that got destroys 100 percent naturally. In our country, women are using cotton in the periods for a long time but now many options have come that are bad for the environment. The women in India should stop using sanitary napkins and should use protective and secured biodegradable napkins."

On the professional front, Dia Mirza who is away from the silver screen since a long time, is now all set to make a comeback through Ranbir Kapoor starrer Sanjay Dutt biopic.
