Sonali Bendre announces she is fighting with 'high-grade cancer;' undergoing treatment in New York; see details

The Bollywood industry has not yet recovered from Irrfan Khan's announcement about his Neuroendocrine Tumor when another sad announcement from one of our favourite Bollywood celebrity is here to shook you up. Bollywood actress, Sonali Bendre is suffering from cancer and the announcement is made by the actress herself on her social media account.

The actress who was last seen on the silver screen in 2013 in Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai took to her Twitter account to share the shocking news. She also announced that she is undergoing treatment for the same in New York and is determined to come out of it.

Sonali wrote, "Sometimes, when you least expect it, life throws you a curveball. I have recently been diagnosed with a high grade cancer that has metastised, which we frankly did not see coming. A niggling pain led to some tests, which led to this unexpected diagnosis. My family and close friends have rallied around me, providing the best support system that anyone can ask for. I am very blessed and thankful for each of them.”

Further she added, “There is no better way to tackle this, than to take swift and immediate action. And so, as advised by my doctors, I am currently undergoing a course of treatment in New York. We remain optimistic and I am determined to fight every step of the way. What has helped has been the immense outpouring of love and support I’ve received over the past few days, for which I am very grateful. I’m taking this battle head on, knowing I have the strength of my family and friends behind me.”

Sonali was hosting a reality TV show 'India’s Best Dramebaaz' along with Vivek Oberoi and Omung Kumar but has now been replaced by Huma Quereshi. She made her Bollywood debut in the year 1994 with Govinda’s Aag and has done quite a number of films such as Sarfarosh, Duplicate, Major Saab, Hum Saath Saath Hain, Diljale and English Babu Desi Maam.

Bendre has also worked in various TV shows and is happily married to filmmaker Goldie Behl and they are blessed with a son named Ranveer. We wish the actress gets well soon!
