Raj Kapoor's RK studios sold to Godrej Properties: 5 Bollywood classics shot at the iconic places
One of the iconic places of Mumbai, RK Studios which happens to be the film studio of ace actor and director Raj Kapoor has finally been sold to Godrej Properties Ltd (GPL) on Friday. The property which has been built for over 70 years now is spread across 2.2 acre of land and as per reports has been sold for an unspecified amount. The place has been situated in the eastern suburb of Chembur and was build in the year 1948, an year after independence.
The main stages of the studio was destroyed in the fire that broke out in September last year. The legacy of the filmmaking and acting in the Kapoors was started by Prithviraj Kapoor in the year 1929. His son Raj was also called 'the greatest showman of Indian cinema' established a landmark when he set up the studios in Mumbai where n number of iconic films are shot.
