Malang actor Anil Kapoor reveals 'I compensated lack of good personality with hard work'

80’s superstar Anil Kapoor is known for giving super hit films such as Mr India, Ram Lakhan, Tezzan, Nayak among others. The actor is gearing up for his upcoming film Malang also starring Disha Patani, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Kunal Khemu. Anil who is an evergreen actor and is known for his look and fitness got chatty in an interview while promoting his film.

In an interview, the actor revealed several things that when he started his career he realised that looks will never be the criteria for the films. So he decided to put in more efforts and said that wherever he is standing today is only because of his hard work.

Anil continued that during his initial phase of career people use to tell him “you don't have to work so much” but he didn't pay heed to all this and continued putting his effort as he uses to enjoy it. He used to think “God hasn't given me a great personality, body or face. So maybe I'll get work purely on my hard work.”

 

Since 80’s the actor is giving people hit films and is leaving no stone unturned to surprise his fans even today. Talking about his filmy graph then in 80’s he has given hits like Mr India, Tehzaab while in 90’s he has starred in films such as Judai, 1942: A Love Story, Taal, Virasat among others and in 2000’s he made versatile choices such as Welcome, Nayak, Slumdog Millionaire, Dil Dhadakne Do among others.

According to Malang actor to survive in the industry for long one has to make good choices. The choices keep the actor relevant. The people whom the actor works with, the collaboration which happens. When asked how he kept growing in the industry to which he said that at every stage he kept meeting people who motivated him and kept opening doors for him.

The 63-year-old actor feels blessed and fortunate that even after 40 years of his journey in Bollywood he has the same spirit which he has as a newcomer.

Talking about the film Anil will be seen essaying the role of a cop after 7 years since Shootout At Wadala. When asked what made him pick up this role to which he said, “I took it up because it was a fascinating role. But it isn't that I walk into a set and I know every beat of how to perform. That comes when you prep at home and sometimes when you're on set, you realise it isn't working.”

 

The film helmed by Mohit Suri is slated to hit the theatres this week on 7th February. The film will clash with two other films namely Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s ‘Shikara’ and Mahesh Bhatt’s Hacked starring TV beauty Hina Khan.
