Karnataka: Disabled children buried neck-deep during solar eclipse to cure deformities

The children looked very young to wrap their head around why they were being buried into the ground whlie adults sat around smiling.

Three handicapped kids were buried up till the neck at Karnataka’s Tajsultanpur village, during solar eclipse today as their parents were of the opinion that the children will be cured of deformaties after this.

The children who were buried for more than two hours were brought back to the surface only after the eclipse finished.

A women activist of Janawadi Mahila Sanghatane Ashwini notified the concerned official as she was cognizant of the incident from the resident of the village.

Subsequently, a team of rationalists including ex-MLA BR Patil reached the location and asked the parents to come to dig out the kid.

The solar eclipse embraces religious significance and special prayers were offered on the occasion.

The solar eclipse began at around 8:17 am and continued around 11 in the morning.
