Chinese man lives in airport for 14 years, know shocking reason here

A Chinese man has reportedly been living at the Beijing International Airport Terminal for over a decade and has no intention of going back home to his family.

The Chinese man, identified as Wei Jianguo, moved into the airport following a fallout with his family who were not pleased about his smoking and drinking addiction. Wei, aged 60, is out of job and has been living at the airport's Terminal 2 since 2008, according to a report by China Daily.

"My family told me if I wanted to stay, I had to quit smoking and drinking. If I couldn't do that, I had to give them all my monthly government allowance of 1,000 yuan ($150). But then how would I buy my cigarettes and alcohol?," he told China Daily.

Wei Jianguo said he was fired from his job when he was in his 40s and has not found employment since because his old age.

Wei is not the only one who calls the airport his 'home'. Around five or six other people have been living at the airport's terminals, a senior sanitation staff told China Daily.

The sanitation and security staffs at the airport have never objected of them being there..

However, ahead of Christmas last year, Wei was asked to leave after a clip of him eating noodles at the waiting room went viral. But, he soon came back.

Wei Jianguo said he laid low for a few days and then came back. "At least I have my freedom in the airport," he was quoted as saying by the China Daily.
