Believe it or not! Family finds $1 million in two bags lying on the road; know what happens next

A road journey for Virginia's family has become memorable as it has changed their fortune for sure. As per several media reports, the family found nearly $1 million in two bags lying on the road.

The family headed out for a ride in a bid to refresh them as they have been locked for over a month due to the coronavirus lockdown. But, what they found during their journey made them famous.

The couple named David and Emily Schantz left their Caroline County home with their children last Saturday and then drove their pickup truck to enjoy the ride. On their way, they found a trash bag which they picked up and also found another bag, news sources reported on Tuesday.

They put the bags in their pickup truck and kept driving, according to Schantz.

When they returned their home, the family found the bags filled with money, Schantz told.

"Inside of the bag, there were plastic baggies and they were addressed with something that said cash vault," Schantz told WTVR.

Later, they called Caroline County Sherrif’s Office and informed them about the bags.

The deputies took inventory and discovered that the total amount that the bags contained were nearly $1 million.

However, Caroline Sheriff is still figuring out who left those money bags on the road in Goochland County.

According to Caroline Sheriff’s Maj. Scott Moser said that the recipients would surely offer the Schantzes a nice reward for their loyalty.

"Their actions deserve nothing less," Moser said. "They saved someone a lot of money and set a wonderful example for everyone else."
