SS Rajamouli’s (All Versions) has decimated all existing box-office records by a huge margin, as the film raked in approximately Rs 114 crore on its opening day.
While the Telugu version of the film record near 100 % occupancy throughout the day, the Hindi dubbed version too was strong by recording approximately 75% occupancy. The previous record holder of highest opening day was Kabali which raked in approximately Rs 45 crore on its opening day and Baahubali: The Conclusion has shattered the record by a margin of over Rs 70 crore.
Region wise break-up:
The movie has become the first ever Indian film to rake in over Rs 100 crore on a single day. To put things to perspective, Bollywood blockbusters like Sultan, Dangal and Bajrangi Bhaijaan surpassed the Rs 100 crore mark at the box-office in 3 days as compared to just one day by Baahubali: The Conclusion.
However, the high ticket rates and comparatively lower tax obligations boosted the collections by a substantial margin but that does not take away the achievement of the unbelievable feat from the film.
This is one record which is likely to remain unchallenged for a long period. The film is carrying a positive word of mouth and is expected to break past the coveted Rs 300 crore club within merely 4 days.
Note: These are just early estimates and the actual collections will be updated by 1 pm on April 29.
