Badrinath Ki Dulhania taken the second biggest opening of the year . The film recorded average occupancy of around 30 to 35 percent in the morning and noon shows.

The Varun Dhawan – Alia Bhatt film has taken a bigger opening than the likes of Jolly LLB 2 and Kaabil which was riding on a pretty bigger star-cast. While early morning occupancy of Jolly LLB 2 was 25 percent, Kaabil had opened to a poor occupancy of 20 percent.

However, Jolly LLB 2 showed a massive growth towards the evening and late night shows which helped it put up a good opening day number of Rs 13 crore. Badrinath Ki Dulhania is expected to record a slightly better opening day number than the Akshay Kumar starrer until and unless the film fails to show the growth in evening and night shows.

Occupancy wise, Badrinath Ki Dulhania is second next to Raees which recorded excellent occupancy of 60 to 65 percent in the morning shows.

It would be interesting to see if this Varun Dhawan film maintains the momentum and reaches close to the Rs 15 crore mark or no.
