Israel's Ambassador to India Daniel Carmon on Friday said that India's vote against Israel at the UN General Assembly on the issue of Jerusalem will not influence the bilateral ties between the two sides.

"Vote at UN is important, but it will not mar the big picture of the India-Israel relationship," Carmon said on India's vote in UN on draft resolution on the status of Jerusalem.

"Sometimes, countries cannot agree to each other's requests. It will not influence the relationship as it is more important than one vote here and there," he added.

India, along with more than 120 countries, had voted in favour of a United Nations General Assembly resolution calling for the United States to drop its recent decesion to recognise Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will arrive on a six-day visit to India, starting from January 14.
