Authorities in Texas, United States, have found the body of a small child.
Police said they are yet to make a positive identification of the body, but believe is the missing three-year-old Sherin Mathews, whose adoptive parents have been notified.
The cause of death is yet to be determined.
Sherin Mathews of Richardson, Texas, was reported missing on 7 October, CNN reported, quoting the Richardson Police Department, as saying.
Her father, Wesley Mathews, has told the authorities that he ordered the child to stand next to a tree behind the fence at their home at around 3 a.m. on 7 October as punishment for not drinking her milk and she went missing. He has been charged with child endangerment.
