Renowned qawwali singer Amjad Sabri shot dead in Karachi

Renowned qawwali singer Amjad Sabri of the Sabri brothers was shot dead by unknown miscreants in Karachi on 22 June.

According to local media reports, unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle fired at his vehicle while he was travelling with his associate friend.

Both were rushed to Abbasi Shaheed hospital where Amjad Sabri succumbed to his injuries.

There have been no arrests so far. The motive of the crime has not yet been ascertained.

Amjad Sabri was one of the famous singers of the Sabri Brothers , who are known for singing Sufi Qawwali. They are connected to the Chishti Order. The globally well-known group has performed in India several times.
