A young girl in Saudi attacked by lion cub

On Friday, a video went viral where a lion cub attacks a young girl in Saudi Arabia's Jeddah. This might sound bizarre but as a part of Jeddah Spring Festival, children were allowed to run around and play with the six-month-old cub.

The young girl escaped with minor cuts and bruises. However, a Snapchat recording of the incident went viral.

In the footage, a lion cub is seen running about inside a cage along with young children ( none older than ten-year). Suddenly, the lion cub attacks a young girl. Later, she was rescued by an animal trainer.

The gruesome bone-chilling footage, the child tries to kick the lion away but she gets imbalanced and falls to the ground. Other children who were earlier running around the lion cub, screamed in terror.

Finally, the trainer managed to pull the cub off the little girl.

Jeddah Spring festival

This is a month-long festival showcasing Saudi Arabia’s customs and traditions. The festival organised by the Association of Neighborhood Centers in Jeddah attracted more than 800,000 visitors from 16 different cities and abroad last year.

This festival covers more than 50,000 square meters, with more than 400 exhibitors.

The festival has attracted a lot of children and visitors because of the zoo and amusement park.

The main target of the festival is to form a relationship between the people and their surroundings. This will strengthen ties between neighbors and provide them with better services.

Jeddah Spring Festival under scrutiny

The Deputy Emir of Makkah Province Prince Abdullah Bin Bandar ordered to stop the Jeddah Spring Festival after a cub attacked a girl. Both the organiser and the cub trainer are under investigation.
