An explosion in a factory in a port city, south of Shanghai, in China injured several people and damaged surrounding buildings, on Sunday, media reports said.
Chinese state radio and other outlets reported that an explosion in Ningbo City of Zhejiang Province, one of China's busiest ports, struck the Jiangbei District on the Yong River at about 8:55 am. The injured were sent to the nearby hospitals, while there was no immediate word of possible casualty.
The explosion caused some buildings to collapse, Xinhua quoted the city's fire department, as saying.
"An unknown number of people were taken to a hospital but details of their injuries were unknown," China National Radio said, on its website.
Further details are awaited.
