At least 30 killed in blast at shrine in Balochistan

At least 30 people were killed today in a blast at Shah Noorani shrine in Balochistan, nearly 200 kilometres away from Karachi.

According to media reports, women and children are among the victims in the explosion, which took place during a 'dhamaal' around Maghrib prayers.

Balochistan Home Minister Sarfaraz Bugti confirmed the blast and said the government has expedited the rescue operations.

At least 30 people have also been injured in the explosion.

"30 people were injured in the blast including women and children," the Dawn quoted Tehsildar Javed Iqbal as saying.

The explosion took place within the premises of the shrine. Security forces have reached the spot of the incident.
