At least six civilians killed and two others injured in a roadside bomb blast in Shahjoy district of Zabul of Afghanistan reported TOLOnews. According to the local governor’s media office, the blast occurred at 10:30 am when the girls were playing with an unexploded rocket in Alingar district.

The ordinance was placed by the insurgents, the statement added. Four of the six girls belonged to a single family. No terror organisation has taken the responsibility for the suspected terror attack. More details on the incident are yet awaited. Meanwhile, a terror attack by the Taliban on a security base on Tuesday night in Northern Afghanistan killed 45 Afghan security forces.

Reportedly, 35 Afghan army personnel and 10 policemen were killed in the attack. Authorities have confirmed the attack but details about casualties have not yet been revealed.

Earlier in July, 14 people were killed in a massive blast which rocked Afghanistan's Kabul airport shortly after Vice President Abdul Rashid Dostum returned from self-imposed exile. Dostum escaped the attack unhurt. The attack was claimed by militant group Islamic State.

It is to be noted, Dostum left for Turkey more than a year ago, after he was accused of directing his men to kidnap and rape a political rival — accusations he denies.

According to Hashmat Estankzai of Kabul police, nine security forces members and traffic officers were among the 14 who had died, while another 60 people had been injured.
