2 dead as 6.8 magnitude earthquake jolts North India; epicentre in Hindukush

Earthquake tremors measuring 6.8 magnitude were felt in several parts of Afghanistan, Pakistan and India. According a PTI alert, the National Centre for Seismology announced the epicentre of the earthquake in the Hindukush mountain range. 

In India, the tremors were felt in Delhi, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Chandigarh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. 

Two people reportedly dead in Swat district in Pakistan. The earthquake reportedly lasted 1.5 minutes. Metro services were halted for a short while in New Delhi.
