Ivanka Trump backs Serena Williams, Serena cited "Pregnancy is not Injury"

The Former number 1 player Serena Williams is getting strong defended from US President daughter Ivanka Trump, who cited on Thursday that “no person should ever be penalized professionally for having a child.”

For the first time Serena Williams doing comeback in French Open since giving a birth to girl child last September. In WTA ranking she is at 453, making her way to fourth French Open championship. Before her pregnancy, she was ranked No. 1 in WTA ranking.

"No person should ever be penalized professionally for having a child! The #WTA should change this rule immediately. #FrenchOpen." Ivanka Trump cited.

Williams took 14 months off from the WTA Tour subsequent to winning the 2017 Australian Open while pregnant. She experienced an extremely difficult childbirth which left her laid up for a month and a half, and has had an ending come back to activity, playing in two competitions in March before pulling back to focus on a comeback at Roland Garros.


Ivanka wrote, "@SerenaWilliams is a formidable athlete (best ever!) and loving new mother. No person should ever be penalized professionally for having a child! The #WTA should change this rule immediately. #FrenchOpen."

"I think it's more of a protection for women to have a life,". "You shouldn't have to wait to have a baby until you retire. If you want to have a baby and take a few months off or a year off and then come back, you shouldn't have to be penalized for that. Pregnancy is not an injury." Williams cited in  The Times

The 36 year old, Serena Williams, a three-time Roland Garros champion, was drawn against Kristyna Pliskova of the Czech Republic in the first round of the French Open at Thursday's draw.
