Rajeshwar Udani murder case: Devoleena Bhattacharjee summoned by Pant Nagar Police again for quizzing in diamond killing case

A popular Television actress, Devoleena Bhattarcharjee, popularly known as 'Gopi Bahu' of TV serial 'Saath Nibhana Saathiya' has been once again summoned in the diamond merchant Rajeshwar Udani's death case, reported news agency ANI.

Mumbai Police had arrested a former aide of Maharashtra minister and a policeman and others in connection with the murder of a diamond trader who was found dead in a forest near Navi Mumbai Maharashtra.


The dead body of the diamond merchant was found in a bushes in Panvel area of Navi Mumbai. The diomand trader was missing from November 28, after his car was found at the Eastern Express Highway in Mumbai.

On Sunday also, the television actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee who was rose to fame with her role of Gopi Bahu in "Saath Nibhana Sathiya" was detained after several hours of questioning. On Monday, Pant Nagar Police again summoned her in the same case.

Rajeshwar Udani, a diamond merchant based in Mumbai's Ghatkopar, had gone missing on November 28. The 57-year-old's decomposed body was found in a forest in Panvel in Raigad district on Friday, 10 days after he went missing, the police said.

The police in the initial enquiry identified the accused as Sachin Pawar - former personal assistant of Maharashtra minister Prakash Mehta, while another accused is Dinesh Pawar a suspended police constable who was arrested earlier in a rape case.
