After slashing the price of Mi Pad in January, Chinese tech giant Xiaomi on Tuesday announced a price cut for Redmi Note Prime in India. The note, whose price has been reduced by Rs 500, has been subject to a price cut for the first time since its launch last year. The device is now available at Rs 7,999 on Amazon India, Mi store, and Mi app.

The phone was launched in 2015 at Rs 8,499 and is assembled at Sri City factory in Andhra Pradesh under the 'Make In India' project of Xiaomi.

The note has a 2GB RAM, 16GB ROM and a Snapdragon 410 64-bit processor. The dual-SIM phone comes with a powerful 3100 mAh battery and 13 MP rear camera.
