Planning to buy Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+? Read the first impressions

Priced at a whopping Rs 57,900, Samsung has released the much-awaited Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ in the Indian smartphone market. The phone was launched last week at the Galaxy Unpacked 2015 event along with Galaxy Note 5. Reports are that Galaxy Note 5 will also be launched soon in India.

Price

There are two variants of the smartphone. The 32GB variant is priced at Rs 57,900 while the 64GB variant has been given a miss, for now. Pre-order for the smartphone went up on 19 August, while the phone will go on sale on 28 August.

Colours

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ is available in four colours, namely- White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum, and Silver Titanium.

Specifications

The smartphone sports a dual-edge display with a 5.7-inch QHD Super-Amoled display with a 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution. The pixel density is of 515ppi. The phone is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Exynos 7420 processor along with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM.

Camera

The device sports a super-clear 16MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera.

Connectivity

This Samsung phone includes 4G LTE, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS/ A-GPS, and Micro-USB 2.0. It has a powerful 3000mAh non-replacable battery.

The Android 5.1 Lollipop based smartphone does not include a microSD card slot. Interestingly, Samsung offers 100GB of OneDrive of cloud storage.
