Hitachi Services India extends paid maternity leave from 3 to 6 months; offers post maternity benefits

Hitachi Consulting Software Services in India announces an extension of their paid maternity leave period from three months to six months. As a step forward, the organisation also includes the new born baby into the company's medical insurance policy right from birth.

As a mark of commitment to support women employees through this critical life-stage, Hitachi Consulting Software Services India has also put together a host of post maternity policies that include Flexible Work Hours with exclusive shift allowances and work from home options.

On the new holistic maternity policy, Vikas Kaul, vice president, Human Capital Management, Hitachi Consulting India said, "At Hitachi Consulting Software Services India, we take conscious steps to encourage diversity and build an all-inclusive workplace. Approximately 35% of our last year hires were women which bears testament to the value we place on gender diversity. To support women employees, one of the key policies needing focused attention was the Maternity Leave Policy. The extended maternity leave, flexible work hours, work from home options and our in house new mother support facilities are ways of showing we care and value our women employees."
