While most of our latest Android devices are operating on Google's Android Oreo 8.0, Google has been planning for its next update for some time now. Android has been the revolution in the world of mobile technology and the only strong contender when it comes to matching Apple's iOS.

Google has recently released the preview of Android P. The latest Android is expected to bring in new features and a revamped user interface. Android P is expected to come up with a smoother and better in feel user-interface. There have been reports that Google has been building on its stock Android version to increase the user-friendly experience.

It is being speculated that Google is going to put in colourful round icons in its settings menu replacing the earlier monochrome version. Android P has drawn inspiration form more than one sources. Parts of it resemble the user-interface of Xiaomi's MIUI. Also, the Android P has taken a leaf out of Samsung’s TouchWiz UI.

The new interface comes with a new rounded search bar on top with clearly spaced out captions. However, the font and the basic layout remain the same. Samsung’s TouchWiz UI built on Android Lollipop for the Galaxy S6 carried pretty familiar aesthetics, with rounded colourful icons and a similar spaced out layout, albeit with the search button on top instead of a search bar.
Google has decided to put even more on its newest Android. With its Ambient Display on the cards, Google is to follow Samsung's always on display. With the latest update on the way, Android P is expected to come with an always-on display feature which will continuously display time, widgets and battery status as well.
The latest Android looks like very much like a blend of many of its earlier Android Versions. However, Google's Android P is a shift from its stock android strategy of no-nonsense but the developments made look like a plan to counter Apple's iOS. Google is putting its best foot forward to get the Apple users from a closed garden to an open world of Android.
