Facebook latest update: Sent a wrong message to someone? Here's how you can ‘unsend’ the sent message now

Finally, after Instagram and WhatsApp, Facebook is planning to rollout ‘Unsend’ button for its facebook user. On Instagram and WhatsApp this feature is already available where you can delete or send the sent messages from your inbox as well as the recipient inbox. From now on this feature will save facebook user from many embarrassing moments, if they will send an unwanted message to someone mistakenly. Recently WhatsApp gave the ‘delete for everyone’ option by which you can retract your send messages.

In a recent row in past few days, Facebook deleted the sent messages of CEO ‘Mark Zuckerberg’s’ from many several recipient accounts, whereas a normal user can only delete messages from his inbox. People associated this move of facebook to recent Cambridge Analytica data breach scandal and criticised facebook. Social networking platform gave an explanation in a statement that it was a beta testing exercise for the new 'Unsend' button and they apologised for not releasing this feature for every facebook user. Facebook didn’t provide any explanation about whether this feature will be applicable to the old messages sent before this new update and whether the recipient will get any notification or not when a message is retracted.


This news will give relief to many facebook user, almost every user has sent a message by mistake on facebook which some time has created blunders. Facebook officials said in a statement “ we should have released this feature and we apologise for it, it may take some time until the new feature become active on the social networking website.
