World T20: Yuvraj Singh ruled out; Manish Pandey called in as replacement

Manish Pandey has been called up to the Indian squad for the remaining part of the World T20 campaign, after Yuvraj Singh was ruled out of the tournament on Wednesday, 30 March, following an ankle injury.

Pandey is already in Mumbai, after he was put on standby following Yuvraj's injury. The Karnataka batsman last played for India in the fifth ODI against Australia in Sydney in January - a match that saw him hit a century to seal a six wicket victory for India.

Earlier, Yuvraj had twisted his ankle during the Super 10 stage clash against Australia. He had undergone an MRI scan soon after arriving in Mumbai. However, the all-rounder has subsequently failed to recover in time for India's next match.

The hosts are scheduled to play West Indies in the semi-final of the tournament in Mumbai on Thursday, 31 March.
