World T20: South Africa stave off Afghan challenge; win by 37 runs

South Africa beat Afghanistan by 37 runs in their Group 1 Super 10 World Twenty20 match in Mumbai on Sunday, 20 March.

Opting to bat, South Africa scored 209 for five in the stipulated 20 overs, with AB de Villiers scoring 64 runs of 29 balls.

In response, Afghanistan started strongly, with Mohammad Shahzad scoring 44 runs of 19 balls. However, the Proteas' bowling line-up struck back and bowled out the minnows for 172 runs.
