World T20: A look at the Group A points table, as Netherlands vs Oman is washed out

Speed News Desk | Updated on: 14 February 2017, 5:53 IST

The Group A match between Netherlands and Oman has been abandoned due to heavy rain in Dharamsala. The teams will now share one point each, putting Oman unexpectedly at the top of the table for the time being.

Here is what the table looks like now in Group A, with the winner joining Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, and India in the super tens stage:

It is now mathematically impossible for Netherlands to qualify from the group, with the winner of the group hanging on the match to be played between Oman and Bangladesh. Ireland still stands the chance to qualify from the group, albeit on net run-rate if they win against Bangladesh later in the evening, and register a big win against Netherlands too.

More updates to follow on whether the match between Bangladesh and Ireland is going ahead as scheduled, keeping in mind the rainy conditions at Dharamsala.
