Sociality Barbie is giving it back to all the adventurous millennial selfies in a very unique manner. The account of hipster barbie mocks the poses, locations, and obsessions of a hipster West Coast culture. The account has taken the internet by storm after it was discovered by WIRED's Taylor Glascock.
Sociality Barbie has become an internet sensation overnight and has as many as 53,000 followers on Instagram. People are completely mesmerised by the earnest tone and perfectly framed pictures representing how similar our Instagram pictures have become.
The account holder, an anonymous wedding photographer from the Pacific Northwest, says she drew inspiration from numerous posts about "living authentically". A striking similarity was that all these posts looked alike. So she decided to use the mass-produced Barbie to prove her point.
