Marvel's CEO donates $1 million to Donald Trump foundation; Twitter furious
US elections 2016 presidential candidate Donald Trump has found a huge supporter. Marvel's billionaire CEO Isaac Perlmutter has donated a whopping $1 million to Donald Trump's veterans fundraiser, which Trump held while boycotting the Fox News GOP debate.
"The Perlmutters are thrilled to support their friend Donald Trump in his efforts to help veterans," a Perlmutter representative told the Hollywood Reporter.
As expected, the mammoth donation has upset people worldwide. The irony, of course, is that on one hand Marvel is creating more progressive and diverse characters, and on the other the CEO of the company gives away a million dollar as donation to a man whose campaign is built on Islamophobia, xenophobia and resorts to sexism every now and then.
Soon after Trump made the donation announcement, Twitter erupted in anger with tweets pouring in from people from all parts of the world threatening to boycott Marvel movies.
