With Villain, Mohanlal snatched back the all-Kerala record Thalapathy Vijay starrer Mersal took from his blockbuster Pulimurugan

Mohanlal's most awaited film Villain is a few hours away from its theatrical release. The action-entertainer, which is releasing in a record number of 253 shows, is all set to become the biggest Malayalam release in Kerala. Directed by B Unnikrishnan and produced by Rockline Venkatesh, Villain stars Manju Warrier in the female lead.

While Villain is slated to release on 27 October, Mohanlal has set yet another record to his credit.

It has been now confirmed that the Lalettan starrer will be having a record number of 152 fans show on its opening day with opening fans shows scheduled to be screened from 8:00 AM onwards.

Cochin - 15 shows
Thrissur - 22 shows
Malappuram - 19 shows
Palakkad - 9 shows
Trivandrum - 14 shows
Kollam - 13 shows
Calicut - 11 shows
Kannur - 11 shows
Alleppey - 11 shows
Kottayam - 9 shows
Wayanad - 7 shows
Pathanamthitta - 6 shows
Idukki - 3 shows
Kasargod - 2 shows

Out of these 152 fans shows, 25 fans shows are scheduled to start at 8:00 AM.

And with these 152 shows, Villain emerged as the top Malayalam film to have maximum number of fans shows on its opening day. Interestingly, the Mohanlal starrer takes back the all-Kerala record set by Thalapathy Vijay starrer Mersal on last Wednesday, upon its release day. Before the release of Mersal, the record was occupied by the 2016 Mohanlal blockbuster Pulimurugan.

Malayalam films with maximum number of fans shows :

Villain - 152 shows (scheduled to be screened on 27 October)
Mersal - 134 shows (screened on 18 October)
Puimurugan - 125 shows (screened on 7 October 2016)
