The much-awaited Rajinikanth-starrer Kabali is slated to release on 22 July.

The producer of Kabali, Kalaipuli S Thanu, took to Twitter to announce that his film with the Thalaiva film has bagged a clean 'U'certificate from the CBFC.

While fans of the Thalaiva are counting down to the release of Kabali, 22 July will also bring cheer to yet another massive fan base. Thanu's last production, the blockbuster Theri - helmed by Ilayathalapathy Vijay - will complete 100 days of its theatrical release on the same day.

Theri, which opened to viewers on 14 April - the Tamil New Year - is still running to packed houses in limited screens across Tamil Nadu. The action-packed film has also established itself as Ilayathalapathy's second biggest blockbuster after Thuppakki.

Kabali is super hot on trade and is expected to break a number of Box Office records. While both Thalaiva and Vijay fans will be celebrating on 22 July, Thanu will no doubt, be the happiest of them all.
