Vimaanam: Prithviraj Sukumaran's high budget film confirmed to release on this occasion

Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran's Vimaanam finally gets a release date. The film bankrolled by Listin Stephen, the maker of Malayalam classic hits like Traffic and Usthad Hotel marks the directorial debut of Pradeep M Nair. Vimaanam is said to be based on the real life story of Saji Thomas, a speech and hearing person who built an aircraft on his own.

Prithviraj Sukumaran will be seen portraying the role of a deaf and mute person in Vimaanam. From a school dropout to the inventor of an aircraft, the Malayalam superstar will be playing different life stages of the main character in the film. The Naam Shabana actor was recently in news for shedding 10 kilos top portray the main lead character, which is also said to be one of the most challenging roles of his 15-year old acting career.

The shooting of Vimaanam has already been wrapped up and the post production works of the film are currently going on at a brisk speed.

And now, it has been confirmed that Vimaanam is all set to be arrived on the auspicious occasion of Christmas. The director himself has confirmed that the Prithviraj starrer will be hitting the screens as 2017 Christmas release.

Vimaanam also marks the acting debut of Durga Krishna in the main female lead. The adventure-drama also stars an ensemble star cast including Lena, Anarkali Marikkar, Praveena, Sudheer Karamana, Saiju Kurup, and Alencier Ley Lopez.
