Villain: The trailer response to Mohanlal's thriller suggests that the Bajrangi Bhaijaan maker is all set for a grand debut in Malayalam

The official trailer of Mohanlal's upcoming thriller has witnessed a brilliant response from the critics and audience alike. The film, directed by B Unnikrishnan, will see the Malayalam superstar portraying the role of a retired cop named Mathew Manjooran. The film stars Manju Warrier in the female lead and will see the Malayalam acting debut of Tamil stars Vishal and Hansika Motwani and Telugu actors Srikanth and Raashi Khanna of Madras Cafe.

The trailer, which was released on September 1, has opened to a terrific response on social media. The action-packed trailer is all set to cross the coveted 5 Million views on Facebook as well. Lalettan is seen in a never seen before avatar in the film and his action sequences in the film will ensure a visual treat for all his beloved fans.

Apart from Mohanlal's screen presence, another factor that impressed the audience is the overall look of the film. Credit must be given to Rockline Venkatesh for backing a Malayalam film that can be compared to Bollywood thrillers. Villain is also the maiden Malayalam maiden venture of Rockline Venkatesh, who had produced Rajinikanth's Lingaa and Salman Khan blockbuster Bajrangi Bhaijaan as well. The stupendous trailer response suggests that Rockline Venkatesh is all set for a grand debut in Malayalam cinema.
