Vanitha Film Awards 2016: Prithviraj, Parvathy bag the biggest awards for Ennu Ninte Moideen

One of the most popular Malayalam film awards show Vanitha Film Awards 2016 announced their winners yesterday. The 13th edition of awards was conducted via online voting by readers of popular Malayalam magazine Vanitha and newspaper Malayala Manorama. As expected, the public voted for the Moideen-Kanchana pair from the film Ennu Ninte Moideen -- Prithviraj and Parvathy. The talented duo won the best actor and best actress, respectively.

Nivin Pauly, who played the lover boy George in Premam, won the best popular actor award. Namitha Pramod won the best popular actress award for her films Chandrettan Evideyanu, Amar Akbar Anthony, and Adi Kapyare Kootamani.

Jayasurya and Rima Kallingal bagged the special awards for their brilliant performances in 'Su.. Su.. Sudhi Vathmeekam' and 'Rani Padmini', respectively. Debutant director RS Vimal won the best director award for Ennu Ninte Moideen, which also bagged the best film title. Dileep and Mamta received the best pair award for their blockbuster film Two Countries.

Shabareesh, Krishna Shankar, and Sharafudheen will share the debutant actor award for their roles as Nivin's friends in Premam.

Surprisingly, Malayalam movie legends Mohanlal and Mammootty did not win any awards. This mega event will be held on Sunday, 21 February 2016 at Trivandrum Greenfield International Stadium. Big stars from Bollywood, Kollywood, and Mollywood are expected to attend this event.
